  1. Eat a variety of WFPB foods most often - phytonutrients in fruits and veggies (plant foods help you recover and possibly run faster!), but in some cases, non-whole food sources may be okay to meet fueling needs

  2. Prioritize fueling and hydration - make sure your fuel and hydrate pre, during, after and understand when and what is best for you to fuel and recover, even if you are plant based you won’t have an advantage if you neglect this

  3. Get rid of all previous food beliefs and food rules - this is not a fad diet, it’s a lifestyle.

  4. Follow a properly planned nutrition and fueling plan - what you eat must be intentional, so you get all the nutrients you need and fueling for performance

  5. Get support from a plant based sports dietitian nutrition and run coach like me :)
