In this episode, I discuss 3 tips that may help keep you running when your heart just isn’t in it…

Have you ever felt like you were in a slump? You didn’t feel like running despite being a runner for a long time. You love running. What is wrong with you? But it’s actually normal to have these feelings. It happens to all of us especially when we run for a long time with no breaks. That’s why you should have breaks. It’s also tough to run without “training” for a specific race and can lead to burnout.


In this episode, I discuss 3 tips that may help keep you running when your heart just isn’t in it…

Tip #1: Take time off - take time off running. Don’t run! Try something new to stay active like walking, biking, a new workout class (there are a ton of virtual classes now!), yoga, etc. Sometimes we just need a break or to change things up to make it more interesting.


Tip #2: Run a different route, run with a friends or group, or try a different workout. Running a different route can be good to have a different scenery when outside, running with a friend or group can help you get your passion back! or doing a speed workout or tempo run to make things interesting - this has been a game changer for me! To keep my interest and for my performance! WIN-WIN!!!


Tip #3: Run without your watch or for distance or a specific time - just run!! I know this may be scary. But just do it! You could record it if you have to for strava or your coach then put tape over your watch or use an app like strava on your phone. Just go and run for as long as you want. Sometimes you tend to enjoy it more and have more fun when you are not running for distance or time! Stay safe and warm out there guys!!!
